The two scenes above are by far the best from this movie. I’ve wanted to see this film for awhile, but it turned out to a real snoozer. The movie’s about psychics, there abilities, and society’s distrust of them. It reminded me a little of X-Men. The main story deals with a good psychic fighting an evil psychic who is trying to destroy society. Real exciting… But, I can see where some of today’s sci-fi films have been influenced by this one.
Another good scene involves the good psychic accessing a prehistoric Macintosh computer over a public phone booth. The computers and special effects used in this film are a riot. It’s worth checking it out for that alone. Well, that and the exploding head of course!
Whatever man! Scanners is as great a movie as the incomparable Dune!
